I am currently working on my “Wizarding World” series.Based on all the popular wizards in pop culture. I’ve done Luna Lovegood so far and I just recently finish Dumbledore!

Melody Allen :: Kickstarter for a wonderful ceramistst!

I rarely support kickstarters, just because they are so many.

I stumbled upon Melody Allen’s Kickstarter for her Soda-Kiln, and I was entranced by her work, it is lovely!

Her goal is very modest, and I think that she deserves her kiln!

So I mentioned that my Gonzo and Camilla piece sold. And I have this adorable picture of the wonderful lady and friend who bought it (Her name is Jessica Uelman, and if you are familiar with the maker community, Parallax, or general nerdities you might know who awesome she is).

Adorable!

I really miss that piece but I am super happy it has a great home!

This is my final piece for the Muppet Show tomorrow at Undergrounds CoffeeHaus. It depicts 2 of cinema’s most loving,romantic and strong couples ever- Gonzo and Camilla the Chicken!

Finalist in New Era Introducing Art Competition!

I am so proud to announce I am one of 70 finalists who have been chosen to have our caps tour North America and appear in a limited edition art book by New Era Introducing (they do those amazing caps!)

Hundreds of entries for phase one were judged and then 100 people were chosen to move to phase 2 (I was one of them) and then 70 were chosen to be finalists to tour and all the blah blah blah I mentioned. One winner received a 10k grant, and from what I saw it was well earned. It was a visually and emotionally striking piece!

This whole contest was a surprised because the emails were getting lost in my spam folder so I found out about it after I received my Cap (phase 2 you were given a cap with art supplies to transform it into your creation)and I creaed piece inspired by some of my favorite artists.

Anyway I am excited and honored! But since my spam folder ate my “congratulations email”I didn’t know I was a finalist, and missed going to the Miami opening of the show.

nonetheless this bizarre little journey has been fantastic and I am greatly appreciated the had faith in me and loved my art!

Goodbye Sweet Prince- Wes Anderson event thoughts

So the event- By Way of Wes Anderson was a huge success! Everyone had a lot of fun, the bands where amazing and it was full of amazing art! I managed to sell a few pieces and was even more proud when half of another artists collection sold. I really REALLY love selling other peoples work. It was really amazing to see the buyer get excited and gush about how incredible the artist is (and she is her name is Brandy Rumiez, and she is amazing), it was also awesome to tell Brandy her work sold and see her get excited. I just fucking love that! Completely made my night!

One piece that sold was a piece that wasn’t in the show, but my friend was finally able to get it which is my skeleton cat illustration. The other piece that sold was a last minute piece of Margot and Richie Tenenbaum.

Overall it was a great experience and I cannot wait for the next event!
